SIMPLE TRUTH: DO SOMETHING THAT SCARES YOU
March 7th, 2010
“Do something every day that scares you.”
- Eleanor Roosevelt
Our bodies are amazing machines and our brains are the computers that run
them! Fortunately we have the ability to program that computer. We can
program it with positive or negative thoughts and feelings. These thoughts
and feelings guide us – they assist us in the choices that we make in our
lives.
Sometimes the choices are easy, but there are times when they are difficult
and they are scary. A choice may mean doing something differently than we
have ever done it before. It may mean putting ourselves “out there”. It may
mean standing up for what we believe in. The only way to grow is by trying
new things. And growing is what keeps us strong – whether that be mentally
or physically.
So, as Eleanor Roosevelt so wisely put it, “do something every day that
scares you”. It doesn’t have to be big, it just has to be something
POSITIVE. By being positive, whether it be with yourself or others, you will
make difference. And that is what really matters!
