La Mesa Jr. High School’s difference maker for the 2010/2011 school year is Alyssa Piper. She is involved in community service and she welcomes new students with open arms. She is seen many times talking with people who seem lonely. She also has been selected as one of the finalists in this year’s TEEN TRUTH Film Festival. Her video is called “STAND”. She is a valued member of the Bully Prevention Club. We have a time we call Story Telling Time and she consistently brings up issues that she has had on campus in order to discuss them with her peers. So, not only is she helpful with others, she is looking for ways to improve her ability to assist others.
