I have two 6th grade students I would like to nominate for the Difference Maker Award at Marshall. They are Flora Perlmutter and Colin Snyder. These two young people lead a team of students who work with our severely challenged students in our Moderate to Severely Handicapped class. Both Colin and Flora work directly with the teacher, Mr. Giertych, who trains them. Both students are deeply compassionate and skilled young people who are comfortable working with severely autistic and severely disabled students. More so, Flora and Colin choose a few other students from our class ...

Anilise Provenzano (2011)

May 12th, 2011

Here’s what teachers had to say: “Anilise's attitude is one that cares about her education, no matter what. Her determination to make the most out of every minute she is in class is admirable. She always volunteers to do everything, takes setbacks well without arguing, always tries to do the best that she can, and always has a smile on her face. I would trust her unflinchingly with anything. If I lived within a few mile of here--she'd be my boy's babysitter! On top of this, she is one of the few students who picks up trash around ...
