Through our DIFFERENCE MAKER Award Program, TEEN TRUTH honors students for consistently telling the TRUTH and inspiring positive change in their school communities.

Our mission is to empower students to examine their decisions and become effective contributors who follow a code of truth, respect, and compassion for self and others. To recognize students who accept this challenge, we have created this prestigious award to give out at schools where we have presented, as well as schools where students have taken heroic steps to be the difference in their community. Additionally, from the pool of exceptional students who win this award, we name one High School Ultimate Difference Maker and one Middle School Ultimate Difference Maker each school year.

The Ultimate Difference Maker receives a TEEN TRUTH scholarship ($500 for Middle School and $500 for High School), commendations from the creators of TEEN TRUTH, and press mentions in relation to this award.

DIFFERENCE MAKERS have demonstrated outstanding qualities in leadership, compassion, and contribution, which may include:

- Sitting next to lonely students at lunch
- Completing random acts of kindness
- Defending those who are being bullied
- Including excluded students in school activities
- Consistently complimenting other students and teachers
- Participating in community service
- Reporting bullying, drug/alcohol abuse and other negative acts on campus
- Maintaining a positive attitude towards other students
- Speaking the TRUTH
