TEEN TRUTH LIVE: BULLY & SCHOOL VIOLENCE is an interactive, multi-media assembly experience that combines motivational presentations with a 22-minute film that was created by students. The award winning film, TEEN TRUTH: BULLY & SCHOOL VIOLENCE, focuses on social issues that can lead to serious consequences while the presentation challenges students to think about how their reactions to these issues impact the lives of those around them. Using storytelling, humor, real world examples and audience participation, TEEN TRUTH LIVE: BULLY & SCHOOL VIOLENCE teaches students to identify the different forms of bullying, understand how bullying can lead to serious consequences, and motivate students to stop bullying from happening in their school.
TEEN TRUTH LIVE: DRUGS & ALCOHOL is an interactive, multi-media experience that incorporates a motivational presentation with a 22-minute film that was created with the help of students. The multi-award winning film, TEEN TRUTH: DRUGS & ALCOHOL, focuses on the social issues that can lead teenagers to use drugs and alcohol and the serious consequences teenagers may face when using illicit substances. Using storytelling, humor, real world examples and audience participation, the speaker educates students about the dangerous consequences of drugs and alcohol, motivates the students to think before using, and empowers them to take an active role in preventing drug and alcohol use from occurring in their community.
TEEN TRUTH LIVE: BODY IMAGE & SELF ESTEEM is an interactive, multi-media experience that incorporates a motivational presentation with a 22-minute film that was created with the help of students. Funded in part by four leading non-profit organizations focused on educating the public about body image issues, TEEN TRUTH: BODY IMAGE & SELF ESTEEM presents a raw look at girls in their quest to be skinnier, boys trying to get bigger and stronger, and the ever growing issue of compulsive eating. Using storytelling, humor, real world examples and audience participation, the speaker educates students about the serious consequences of a negative body image. Issues covered in this presentation include eating disorders, performance enhancing drug use, binge eating, and obesity. This gripping presentation challenges the audience to think more about this secretive issue and find the REAL beauty in themselves and others. A portion of the proceeds of this program will benefit each of the four non-profit organizations featured below.
The TEEN TRUTH: DIFFERENCE MAKER SUMMIT (TT: DMS) teaches youth how to be effective leaders who can think critically about prevalent school challenges and develop an effective action plan to overcome those challenges to create a safer connected campus. The two-part interactive training session begins by training key leaders to think differently about their role as a leader and about the current issues impacting your school climate. Ultimately, empowering the students to develop a comprehensive blue print to address the identified concerns. The program is offered to schools intent on improving the impact of existing leadership groups or who are looking to identify new student leaders.
The TT: DMS is a two-hour course guided by your TT speaker. He or she will use storytelling, critical thinking skills, and interactive activities to lead your students through the leadership workshop. At the conclusion of this program your students will:
• Identify critical campus issues that need to be addressed
• Brainstorm tangible and executable solutions that they can implement on campus
• Understand the value of building a campus united by the concept of “we” and not on “me”
• Create an activity calendar including events that focus on connecting the student body
THE SCHOOL SAFETY ROADSHOW is a program designed to unite district, school, and community stakeholders in order to develop connected school environments. This unique 2-day event, the result of a partnership with The California Association of Directors of Activities (CADA), provides insight, training and real tools that will enable educators to foster safer school communities by uniting their students. Day 1 features the award winning TEEN TRUTH LIVE: BULLY & SCHOOL VIOLENCE experience, a sixty (60) minute panel discussion highlighting experienced community leaders and valuable insight from local resources. In addition, each attendee is given a customized SCHOOL SAFTEY ROAD MAP that provides a blueprint to build a safer school. Day 2 focuses on a Leadership Development Day for activities directors and key student leaders who participated in Day 1. The curriculum centers on skills related to team-building, effective communication, experiential learning, and attracting students to leadership. Studies prove that schools with connected students are safer, have higher test scores, lower dropout rates, and are more efficient learning environments.
